Our aims
We aim to provide a fully bilingual, professional and quality customer service.
- Our service is FREE of administrative charges for voluntary sector organisations within Wales
- We pass on only the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) cost of the disclosure and checks on volunteers are also FREE of CRB charge
What are we?
- The Criminal Records Unit is managed by Wales Council for Voluntary Action and the project is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government
- We are a CRB Umbrella Registered Body
- We countersign disclosure applications requested for volunteers and paid staff who are working with children and vulnerable adults
How do we help the voluntary sector ?
- Assist with informed recruitment of both volunteers and paid staff
- Provide advice and training in requesting and using criminal records checks
- Applicants: If you have been told by your employing organisation that you need to get a criminal records check and want to know more, go to Applicant's Guide for further information
WCVA CRU can also help if you are NOT a voluntary organisation.
You will find a list of charges in the resources or contact us if you would like to discuss your specific requirements.
Using the site
On each web page you will find many resources to help you. We have made the resources available to you across the site in both English and Welsh, so you can give information to an applicant or colleague in the language of their choice.
Alternatively, you can go straight to the Links section for a complete list of resources, including those in pdf format.
